Sauna + Contrast Therapy

Sauna use supports the body through gentle heat exposure that encourages circulation, relaxation, and recovery. As the body warms, blood flow increases, muscles soften, and the nervous system begins to shift out of stress mode.

Regular sauna sessions may help reduce muscle tension, support cardiovascular health, improve circulation, promote detoxification through sweat, and encourage deeper rest. Many people also experience improved sleep, reduced stress, and a greater sense of mental clarity.

Beyond the physical benefits, sauna creates space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect — supporting both body and mind.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We begin with heat. The sauna warms the body, softens tension, and helps you settle into the space. From there, cold plunge is introduced in a way that feels supportive and intentional.

Moving between heat and cold helps stimulate circulation, support recovery, and bring the nervous system into balance. You’re always encouraged to listen to your body and move at your own pace.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Breathwork practices are associated with lowered heart rate, reduced anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and greater interoceptive awareness (awareness of internal body states).

Research highlights:
• Slow breathing increases vagal tone, supporting parasympathetic activation.
• Breathwork can lower perceived stress and anxiety and improve emotional regulation.
• Breathwork enhances oxygenation and may improve cognitive clarity and focus.

✔ Reduces stress responses
✔ Improves mental clarity
✔ Supports nervous system regulation

Cold Plunge + Contrast Therapy

Cold plunge is a powerful practice that supports circulation, mental clarity, and nervous system resilience. Brief exposure to cold activates the body, sharpens focus, and encourages a natural release of endorphins—often leaving you feeling energized, clear, and refreshed.

At Stone + Soul, cold plunge is integrated as part of a contrast cycle. Guests move between heat, cold, and rest in a rhythm that supports balance and recovery. The sauna warms and relaxes the body, the cold plunge awakens and energizes it, and rest allows the nervous system to settle and integrate.

This cycle may be repeated based on comfort and intention, always encouraging you to listen to your body and move at your own pace.

Cold exposure activates the sympathetic nervous system — increasing alertness, circulation, and the release of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter linked to focus and mood regulation. The rapid temperature shift also promotes vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation when entering warmth again, which supports circulatory efficiency.

Contrast therapy (alternating heat and cold) engages the body’s circulatory and nervous systems dynamically, supporting recovery, improved vascular responsiveness, and autonomic balance.

Research highlights:
• Cold exposure boosts norepinephrine levels, linked to improved attention, mood, and metabolic regulation.
• Contrast therapy is shown to support reduced muscle soreness and faster recovery in athletic and therapeutic settings.
• Alternating heat and cold supports vascular adaptability and may enhance overall circulation.

✔ Enhances circulation dynamics
✔ Supports nervous system flexibility
✔ Improves recovery + alertness

Breathwork + Sound Therapy

Breathwork and sound therapy are offered as separate, intentional experiences in our Soul Studio. These sessions are designed to quiet the mind, regulate the nervous system, and create space for clarity and emotional release.

Guided breathwork uses conscious breathing patterns to help shift out of stress and into presence. Breath becomes a tool for grounding, awareness, and connection—often leaving you feeling lighter, clearer, and more centered.

Sound therapy uses vibration and tone to support deep relaxation. Instruments such as bowls, chimes, and other sound elements help calm the nervous system, allowing the body and mind to settle naturally.

Together, breath and sound create an immersive experience that supports rest, integration, and a sense of inner peace.

Sound therapy uses specific frequencies and vibrations that can entrain brainwave patterns, promote relaxation, and lower stress physiology. Sound healing instruments (like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes) stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and help reduce cortisol levels.

Research highlights:
• Sound stimulation correlates with reduced physiological stress markers and increased relaxation.
• Rhythmic auditory stimulation supports emotional regulation and mood enhancement.
• Listening to restorative sound has measurable impacts on heart rate variability — a marker of nervous system balance.

✔ Encourages relaxation
✔ Supports nervous system balance
✔ Enhances mood and emotional ease
